The Upper Town is a must visit when in Zagreb. The views of the city are spectacular and a funicular whisks you to the top in a little over a minute if you are too lazy to walk, like me. A great place to sit and relax after a long day of sightseeing.

This is a quiet part of the city with no vehicle parking due to the government buildings. I'm not quite sure about the ceremonial changing of the guards however as apparently the ceremony is totally made up and based on almost no truth at all apart from the red scarves. Be prepared for the cannon at 12 if you are... More

Lovely part of Zagreb with old romantic streets and old, not always great-maintained homes. More peaceful part of Zagreb with fewer cars. Interesting parts are especially Tkalciceva street in afternoon and evening with so many bars and restaurants and famous Zagreb’s cemetery Mirogoj just 2 Km north.

When you are in Zagreb, this is where you want to be. This part of town is beautiful and full of nice restaurants/cafes etc. We spent most of our time walking around this area and explored Zagreb. A must do when you are in town! See my photos. Please vote for me if you find this review helpful. Thank you... More

Nice for afternoon walk around. Old buildings, St. Mark's church and nice view of Zagreb. Couple of restaurants, so you need not to leave hungry ;-)

The upper town is a sleepy old part of Zagreb where everything goes slower, no traffic jams, there are not many cars, old historical buildings are found wherever you look.

The upper city is completely different from the rest of Zagreb, as we come to another city, the old historic buildings, museums, small shops, etc. The only small criticism is that the entire Upper Town does not have any ATM machine and I have not seen one kiosk

it is worthwhile to climb up here as the view is excellent especially on a sunny day. From there you can see DOLAC - the green market,Cathedral and all the other attractions.

The trip up the railway and then wandering around the old streets was interesting and pleasant, broken up by visits to the Museum of Broken Relationships and the Gallery of Naive Art, followed by a pleasant stroll down the hill to the city centre
