Trg Ban Jelacic is the place to meet friends, go to occasional concerts in the square, strolling around, people watching, little cafes. Whenever we go to Zagreb, we love strolling around and are always surprised by different events happening. There is an electricity here.

It was made 1866, but when the Communists came to power they destroyed the monument, because Ban Jelacic was some of the symbol for Croatian people. At that time only war criminal Tito could be a symbol. The rests were hidden in a cellar, and after the first democratic election in 1991 the monument was restored and put on the...

Well, this is the main square of Zagreb. You will definitively visit it but is there anything special to remember about it? Not sure.

You won't be able to miss this on any visit to town - it's the statue of a chap on a horse in the main central square. Enough said really.
