Curation has varied over the years, sometimes displays are great, especially the collection of dance costumes and tivaevae. But some years pieces seem to go missing or are not preserved well, as they are under-resourced. Cook Islands Library and Museum about a kilometre down the road is not as nice a space but has a better permanent display collection. More

This small but interesting museum is worth a visit to check out some of the history, culture and craftmanship of the Cook Islands. There was no staff in evidence when we were there, but the door was unlockec, we turned the lights on ourselves so we could see the exhibits and wandered around checking out the displays.
