We've been on wine tours in Nappa, Sonoma, and Tuscany, but the Wine Experience takes the cake! First, Ryan Hamilton, the owner, is a delight to be with. He is an experienced sommelier. We learned much from him, not only about Uruguayan wines, but about Uruguay as well. He took us to amazing wineries. Uruguayan wines are vastly underated! We... More

Ryan Hamilton is the proprietor of this remarkable one-man wine tourism business. The venues he offers are one of a kind and his clientele select. I had two days in Montevideo and Ryan helped convert my stay into a genuine wine adventure, First he recommended a restaurant called Corchos , which serves a kind of flight of four Uruguayan wines... If you enjoy wine and meeting people, make sure you get in touch with Ryan Hamilton when you visit Uruguay. My wife and I spent a very pleasant half day with Ryan visiting two wineries just outside Montevideo, one of which we'd never have found on our own. Not only did we get to taste excellent wines and meet their... More

We have enjoyed private wine tours around the world. Ryan Hamilton provides a very personal wine tour. We visited two vineyards with him during our brief stay in Montevideo, Uruguay. He gave us a wonderful overview of the history of the area and the wine industry. We loved the winemakers we met and wish we could find their wines here... More

The Wine Experience is a must-do for wine lovers and for those are just learning to appreciate wine. Montevideo was one of the ports we visited on our cruise and we wanted to experience something unique to the area, to have a more personal experience, and to travel outside the city and see some of the countryside. There were four... More

We are backpackers that love wine. If you like wine this is the tour for you. Personal tour by your very own sommelier, tons of fun and very intimate. Backpackers shouldn't shy away because of the price, if you like wine.... Do yourselves a favor and DO THIS TOUR!

Ryan, the owner of of the Wine Experience, picked us up in Montevideo and we drove about 45 minutes to a 30 year-old vineyard. We visited a vineculturalist/winemaker and his wife in their country home surrounded by vines. We were a few weeks after the major harvest., but there were a few rows of late harvest grapes still on the... More

The Wine Experience was a wonderful way to spend the day in Montevideo. We were on a cruise and the opportunity to travel outside the city and visit a beautiful winery was a special treat. Ryan was prompt, knowledgeable, and a great guide. We visited one winery and then had a luncheon tasting at a spectacular restaurant in town. Our... More

If you are like us and enjoy wine, you get the same wine tour every where you go. Talk about nose, clarity, colour, how to hold a glass etc. ... blah, blah, blah. How refreshing it was to go on a tour with Ryan, it was not your regular tour. First, Ryan was on time and picked us up at... More
