It´s a journey in which the traveller will have a full day of unforgettable experiences between the mystical Andean mountains and the most exclusive luxury that a train can offer. The two dining cars, its bar car with observatory, its kitchen car; the welcoming with sparkling wine and its traditional dancing show are only few of the reasons that converted it in everything that it means today. « less

We will always have very special memories of our trip aboard the Hiram Bingham train. The dining cars, along with the bar and observation cars were fitted with beautiful polished wood and brass. We were told that they were constructed in Malaysia. We found it difficult to believe that such delicious and beautifully prepared foods could be served on a... More

The train was very comfortable, and a fun way to prepare ourselves to see Machu Picchu. They also serve snacks! On the way back from Machu Picchu they have a strange sort of entertainment. A type of clown dances down the aisle, and then there is a fashion show of alpaca products. And then you have the opportunity to buy... More

My husband and I took the Hiram Bingham train round-trip to Machu Picchu--up one morning from Rio Sagrado in the Sacred Valley and back 2 days later. Because of repair work on the tracks between Cusco and the Sacred Valley, they bussed people from Cusco to Hotel Rio Sagrado, but we already were staying at the Hotel Rio Sagrado, so... More

This trip was our so called "trip of a lifetime" so the one thing I wanted to do was take the Hiram Bingham Train. My husband loves trains and we decided to do the return Aguas Caliente to Cusco evening trip. It included dinner and drinks. Since we had stayed at the Sanctuary Lodge our bags were being delivered so... More

We rode the Hiram Bingham up to Machu Picchu. It is rather pricey and you must book a ways in advance. The service was first rate. A lovely lunch with wine was served on the way up. There was live music that greeted us at the station and played on the train for most of the trip. We loved the... More

We had the back most seats. Best view possible. Watched as the world changed into the jungle. They sold Alpaca clothes on way back, gorgeous but pricey. They did put on a show with it, which made for some fun.

We had been booked on the Hiram Bingham for at least 6 months prior to our trip but received no communication from either the Orient Express or the Hiram Bingham management team that, due to a landslide that had damaged the track close to Pisac, that the Hiram Bingham train would overcome this operational difficulty by departing/terminating at the Rio... Hiram Bingham lost our luggage en route to Machu Picchu - despite our many requests to label it, we were assured it would be okay. it wasn't. We were also on the train with two large tour groups, whose guides dominated the carriage and we certainly felt slightly ignored. however the return trip , without the tour groups and their... More

I loved the Hiram Bingham Train! We saw the Vistadome Train pull up alongside us, and although it looked fine, it was no comparison to the Hiram Bingham! Very good lunch on board, and beautiful scenery as well. It is VERY expensive, but totally worth the money! We had a great experience!

We travelled back from Machu Picchu on the 2nd May on the Hiram Bingham train. We were not told that the train doesn't go all the way to Cuzco now but stops half way and you then have to catch very cramped buses for the last hour and a half to Cuzco. No-one on the train knew about this and... More
