In the 15th C thousands of workers moved, cut and built with massive stones a village. It is estimated that at its' height; it may have housed 10,000 pepole. The spaniards dismantled much of the site however they could not move the massive bases. These form 3 tiers of a zig zag wall of @1,000 ft. The zig zags are... More

We had a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide named Carlos on our city tour. Only two other couples were with us. The site is built with massive, highly finished Inca stones. This was a religious pilgrimage site of great importance to the Incas. Extremely interesting and makes you wonder how they were able to do such fine and extensive work... More

If you can't pronounce in the Native language, this is as close as you'll get. Don't walk up from Cuzco should you be over 40 years of age, or an Olympic Athlete. Down is a lot better.. maybe 40 min.. Up could be hours, or require a MediVac. More of a magnificent testament to Inca technology than Ollantaytambo or Machu... More

amazing views of cusco and the mountains surrounding the city. We paid a guide 20 soles (£5) and she showed us round the site for approx 30 minutes. She offered to take pictures. Don't go for the first guide when you go in, walk in and around for a few minutes and don't be afraid to ask different guides for... More

It was a fun cool place, you get to walk in and around the area, and if you are a student you can buy a discount pass that lets you go there and many other cool places. It is a very easy, fun hike to get there, and you can hike to Cristo Blanco from there in 10 minutes. It... More

I wanted to go here after hearing about it on Ancient Aliens. It was very cool to see the site in person. I was there as the sun was setting and it gets cold fast when the sun goes down in May. It is set up on the mountain side from Cuzco so you can get a nice view. We... More

It would be easy to go to Cusco and never even know that this extraordinary Inca site exists, but don't miss it. The base stone walls are incredibly impressive but we loved the very heavily glaciated hill opposite the walls and the ruins beyond. Suggest getting a taxi up to the site then walking back into Cusco. More

An intriguing Inca ruin located high on a mountainside on the edge of the city of Cusco. Great views of the city and an interesting drive through the Andean countryside More

Our guide told us the only way to remember the name of this place is to pronounce it Sexy woman! The Incas were incredible, how they built what they did is difficult to comprehend. The site is superb giving an insight into the Inca culture and technical know-how. The guide was extremely informative about the site so if you do... More
