Dioramas in excellent detail and colors. Don't forget they require a passport number, and you must check your bags into the front desk. More

A much safer area to walk and less traffic, quality of architecture is still good. We definitely preferred this to Quito. More

I would put this museum on the "do not miss" list for Cuenca. A small admission fee gets you into several floors of Cuenca and Ecuador history exhibits that are wide ranging an interesting. Outside are preserved ruins to explore. More

Museum is free and although mostly in Spanish, still well worth the time it takes to walk through. Because most of the museum is in vignettes, you get a good grasp of the cultural and bio-diversity of Ecuador. Very interesting More

The museum itself has a good display of the diversity of the regions of Ecuador, as well as some interesting artifacts. The basement has a good collection of older coins and money. What is most amazing about this museum is the grounds behind it, including Canari ruins, beautiful flowers, plants, and trees, and a little aviary with colorful birds and... More

First of all this attraction costs nothing. That's right it is free. We were told by tour guide from a city tour to check this out and I am glad we did. It provided a very comprehensive review of the peoples of Ecuador and their history. It included history of their society, their religion, their foods and even their music.... More
