Broad collection of pre-columbian art starting with objects over 3,000 years old. The only shortcoming was the placement of the interactive computer based exhibit at the end of the gallery. It would have been useful if were at the beginning.
great museum....a gem worth seeking out the art was well displayed and there was a free audio tour available.
We were advised to visit this place by our guide as it was just around the corner from our hotel - what a hidden gem! We spent quite a while looking at the many treasures, which are very well displayed in a great space. And lunch in the courtyard was also pretty good if not as stunning.
Don't miss out...

The best museum in Quito in terms of how the present and showcase their wonderful collection of pre-hispanic art. Lovely Museum store, nice and well chosen items.
Located in an old residential building with a beautiful courtyard, this museum offers a thoughtful collection of artifacts found in an Ecuadorean tomb. Pieces are incredibly well-preserved and nicely presented. Great way to spend 1-2 hours, and courtyard is a lovely place to hang out with a coffee.
This is a small musuem of pre-incan art of Ecuador. Although small, the collection looked completed to me. Local people know this museum much more as Casa del Alabado than as Pre-Columbian art. Take its address with you, otherwise you can miss it. Anyaway, it is located very close to San Francisco church (another must see of Quito), a place...
