I walked to the Cenotaph the day after the 70th Anniversary of The Fall of Singapore. Lots of floral wreaths still on display. It was very moving to read the cards and tributes. In the hustle and bustle of Singapore this is a place for quiet reflection on the past.

Nice monument to the war dead but easily missed now that the surronding ares is all connected via underground / airconditioned malls. Look for it if it is your thing, but otherwise can be missed.

Went in Dec 2011. The cenotaph is one of several monuments you will find as you do the walk along the bay at Esplanade.
Ok walk with some monuments to both world wars fallen heroes.
Well worth a walk on a sunny morning. But don't expect to be blown away.
Did come across a couple of Buddhist monks in full...
