I really thought it was a waste to travel all the way to Joo Koon from Pasir Ris. 1st disappointment in Singapore. The attractions were simple and quite boring. Too many illustrations until I don't bother reading them, hmm maybe because Malaysian culture is similar to Singapore?! The 3D movie was *snores.. Yes, I actually slept through the short film... The purpose of the centre is to show young Singaporeans their place in protecting their country, and it does this quite well. Foreigners will find little to interest them. The bus tour was quite good for us. However incredibly half the bus windows were blocked by advertisements for the Centre, so we were lucky to have seats with good views.... More

I went to Discovery this week with a friend and his 6 year old son. It was a hot day and we wished we'd brought swimmers for the little fella as the water park looked good fun. The centre itself isn't huge, but seeing it through the eyes of a 6 year old really brought the place to life. The... More

Its quite far from main area. Nothing much to explore. Good to go for one time only, specially for students. They show good movies.

Visited with the family as part of a small school project for my son. Didn't really know what to expect but we decided to make the best of it. Bought a combined ticket that gave us entry, a short bus tour of SAFTI (military officers' traning institute) and a movie. It's probably pretty obvious to most Singaporeans that this Centre... More

What a waste of time; this place is terrible. You're allocated a tour guide who walks you from one display to the next (for a bit) and then leaves you. No new information (if you've visited - for example - the National Museum). Cheesy videos / 'arcade'-type games. Long way out of town. Asked staff to get a taxi back... More

2 movies + bus tour + 2 museums all these for only 12-15sgd , and most important is it will re invigorate your patriotism to Singapore! Majula! Hope that they can continually update their exhibits, and if possible move their location somewhere near the city.

The Discovery Centre is all about Singapore, it is not easy to find from the Joo Koon MRT station and we did find it a bit boring. It is all about educating you about Singapore. The 3D cinema is what you expect from a 3D cinema. Wouldn't recommend to go out of your way to make the journey, especially if... More

The Singapore Discovery Centre promises to engage your senses of sight, hearing, and touch, which it does well with its many interactive exhibits. If you're expecting to just view exhibits at the Singapore Discovery Centre, you'll be sorely disappointed. The whole point of the Singapore Discovery Centre is about engagement; learning through having fun. However, many of the main attractions... More

SDC was a nice place to visit to get a fast track understanding of Singapore's history and culture. The guides are very nice and very patient and take you around while throwing in trivia about the locals and their customs. Do remember to find out if there are any movies going on so you can get a package tour along... More
