Well worth going to see the marvels of nature even if the commentary might be more corny than educational. Take a group tour, it might be easier.

The 45-minute tour provides a glimpse of interesting rock formations inside the cave, and made more fun with a funny tour guide with his jokes and puns. What I didn't like though, is that tourists are just made to sit in the banca and look at where the lamp is shedding light on. Would have been a whole lot nicer...

First things first, before coming to Puerto Princesa, be sure to have your tour permit arranged 2 months or earlier prior to your visit to ensure that you are included in the tour since they limit the number of visitors per day to preserve this wonder of nature. The drive to the underground River is very scenic, the van should make stops along the way for picture taking. The water at the Underground River is not very clean, believe I got my leg infected from the water, lot of bat and swallow droppings in the water.

We availed the underground river tour with free lunch. Tour was very FUNtastic since our boat guide really shares his view on the stalagmites & stalactites images. im not into a cave explorer but i really enjoy it :)
2+ hours to get there and we had Peter an excellent guide/driver to pick us up from The Legend Hotel (excellent value) and drop us back at the end of the day. Definitely an all day trip and stopped at some great gift shops along the way, then we arrived at the shore to wait for our boat across to...

Securing a permit for the PPUR tour is a NIGHTMARE. Their website is constantly down and when you do access the reservation, their PayPal address is invalid. You have no choice but to arrange for the tour when you get to Puerto Princesa. BUT... The "Coliseum" where you get the permits is PACKED and the tours are fully booked in...
