The place is beautiful but I expected more of this so-called temple. I come from a trip we visited several temples (Borodubur, Angkor temples in Thailand) and really lacked a bit in the temples that met in Bali. I love visiting temples and learning about the history behind it. And Pura Ulun Danu Bratan was my favorite in Bali. The location is perfect, on the shores of Lake Bratan between the mountains. We were so lucky to witness a ceremony during our visit there. It was sacred and wonderful. More

Sitting alongside Lake Bratan (aka Danau Beratan), just inside of the Bedugul caldera, and with a backdrop of Gunung Catur (actually the edge of the caldera, but still at 2096m it's the 4th highest point in Bali), the location is stunning.
