Good getaway from the city but not that much to spend time on it. Its alright to go on a boring sunday. Not that special Easiest way to get there. Get bus 969 or 967 from Admiralty or Central that takes u straight to Tin Shui Wai. Takes just under an hour

What, I didnt see anywhere else was this amazing method to preserve the wetlands by banning all sorts of reclamation in the suburbs of Hong Kong City. This place on one hand is surrounded by tall buildings and the wetland which is a home to many bird and butterfly species can make you forget all your problems. Its a nice... More

Took the taxi up to beyond Tuen Mun (end of the west rail MTR line - light blue) to visit the HK Weltand Park. Very tranquil and lots of interesting plant-life, birds, butterflies fish, reptiles, "mudlife" (crabs/mudhoppers etc) to see. The walk round takes around 2 hours but longer if you care to stop and watch and listen - binoculars,... More

First, the getting there: the easiest way is by Light Rail to Wetland Park station from Tin Shui Wai MTR station, or if you are coming from Hong Kong Island bus 967 comes from Admiralty via Central. As someone who only has a passing interest in nature(sorry!) I was surprised as to how interesting the park was. The Visitor Centre... More

With the support of the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust consultancy team this has to be one of the finest examples of wetland interpretation - innovative with no expense spared to explore the contribution of wetland habitats and species.

This park is only for people who like birds and like to sit and watch them forever. Do not go there with kids. It's WAY TOO educational. Education is a good thing, i know, but this is the boring kind. Not very much to see. 80% of the indoor 'animals' were fake and boring. The 'shows' are not on time.... More

The Wetland Park is much too artificial. Once you are inside, you can sense the unnaturalness. It is meant to be a resting place for migratory birds, but the noise & much movement of the visitors scare them away

Plenty of birds to be seen on the day we visited the park, but it's also a wonderful place to get away from the crowds and smog of the city! The total travelling time from where we were staying in East TST was probably around 45 minutes each way, using the MTR and Light Rail, but it's well worth the... More
