The ferry over to Lantau is very nice and highly recommended! Took around 1 hour. The Biddha is awesome and well worth a visit, and the little village is very nice. The Crystal Cabin down is such a cool experience as well!
if you want to go here, please go early in the morning before 4.30pm. I love taking the bus up rather than the cable car
Great day out, easy to get to the Cable Station by train. Don't be fooled and buy tickets from the skalpers at the bottom of the stairs, wait until you get to the top and there is a ticket office up there. We bought the Sky-Land-Sea day pass, which included a boat trip visiting the Tai O still houses. The...

Apart from large crowds on our day [Saturday] creating long lines for cable car it was a brilliant value for money event. Personally don't like heights but soon forgot on seeing best views of area, scenery and Buddha.

The whole top was covered in fog and gave it a wintery ski country feel. lots of shops and eateries lined the paved path to the Buddha. be prepared for steep step climb up to the top. The buddha is huge and the surrounding statues are beautiful....

A must see. Reach in the morning itself at 10am to avoid crowds. We had booked a mini bus but you can take an MRT too. . Take the cable car and go for the crystal cabin cable car, the extra money is worth it. Go straight to the big Buddha. You need to climb 260steps to reach it but...

You can get to the Bhudda by boat and bus (Lantau Ferry and Bus 2 at the Ferry stop, about an hour) or on the underground and cable car, less time but not sure how long.
The giant Bhudda is venerated by many at...

Temples and monasteries are fairly commonplace in Asia, so a visit to Lantau Island initially ranked pretty low on my "to do" list. Boy, was I wrong. It was fortunate that I decided to go on a "Oh, what the heck I might as well go" impulse otherwise, I might have missed out on seeing one of the better attractions...

Enjoyed the Crystal (see through) cable car ride to Lantau Island and also the great view of the big Buddha.
