If you want to buy or eat real fresh fish in Hongkong, this is a must to go. Plenty of fishing boats sell fresh fish along the promenade of Sai Kung village. The restaurants around serve very delicious fresh fish meals and even some shopping around for daily goods is very good. The way to get there leads you through...

Avoid the shark migrating seasons - waters still lovely though a little cold. Must eat seafood there!
This was a trip to nowhere. SO HAPPY we did it. This is the Hong Kong that most people do not see. There are no glitzy malls, no bus loads of camera happy tourists, no pretentions. More than a town is a village commanding incredible views over the ocean. There is a Michelin Stared restaurant but we decided to dare...

super fresh seafood and a wide variety. you could choose from the restaurant or buy from the nearby fishing boats.
Would definitely recommend Sai Kung as an afternoon side excursion. It's not difficult to get to, (92 bus), and just getting to walk along the piers and see the fishing boats was a real treat. Sai Kung is not only a place for locals including expats to hangout, but also a gateway to different attractions such as Yim Tim Tsai and High Island Reservior. If you are a dog lover, you could see a lot of people bringing out their beloved dogs for a walk on the weekend. There is a flea market on the...

I love this place it doesnt have any hotels ... yet... but it is a special place. it has a very relaxed atmosphere. The seafood restaurants make this area famous. Huge tanks of sea life...fresh for eating/viewing. The boats on the water makes the area pretty. The area is not the cleanest but it worth a visit.
Just an hour from our hotel, the Sai Kung area has good walks and of course great sea food. A nice combination, and a welcome change from city life.
Sai Kung is a little out of the way from downtown Hong Kong. I know many expats live there and commute but for travellers it is a bit removed. Still it is very interesting to visit. There are many sellers ofan aray of seafood and price are cheap. It can get very busy here on weekends with local visiting as...
