In other words they will rip you off if you let them. In the middle of day, stalls are full of fish, restaurants empty, you expect truly unique Asian experience but what you get is something like really fresh meal at Red Lobster. Alas, gone the days when this probably was worth going there and telling other people. I don't... More

This area of town smelled BAD. There where people selling fish as pets as well as tanks and other supplies. There were also fish and other seafood sold to eat AND pet shops that sold dogs, cats, rabbits etc. we walked around at night and it made for some cheap entertainment.

This was a nice lazy Sunday afternoon trip for the family. We took the MTR and then the local ferry to lei yu mun,or three family village (Sam kar chun). The ferry ride was part of the fun - very rustic and off the beaten path. We really only went there for the sights. I am savvy enough to know... More

Great place to eat with friends and/or low key business associates who are tired of trying to find American food in a foreign city. My best experiences have been with friends who live in in HK and know which restaruants to prepare the seafood you select. It's great food and defnitely a fun experience w/out putting oneself into harms way.... More

For those who comes from a land-locked country and have never seen a life fish or life lobster, the Lei Yu Mun Fish Market would be most interesting and an eye opener for them. Started as a small market for fishermen to off-load their catches on the eastern shore of Kowloon, it has been discovered by the locals, buying seafood... More

Make no mistake if you don't like seeing fish or for that matter any sea creature in tanks waiting to be eaten that the fish market os not for you, but if you can park your concerns and understand that this is Hong Kong culture that get absorbed into this fabulous little fishing village. The sea food I would suggest... More

We went to Kong Lung Seafood Restaurant. We first went to the restaurant. Then go next-door to the fish shop and pick your fish/seafood. We picked fish, abalone, prawns, geoduck, ordered it cooked simply (let the fresh ingredients shine through instead ins read of heavily masked sauces). The cab ride to Lei Yue Mun from HK island (we were at... More

This is a tiny fishing village on the New Territories side of Hong Kong. It is a hidden treasure among a city full of sky scrapers! It must be very frequented by tourists because it is full of very nice quality sea food restaurants where you pick your food out of the tank at the front of the restaurant and... More
