The centre of Roman, Ottoman etc history. Amazing architecture and monuments. Makes one think about what has gone before and how it affected all of our lives. More

Although this area is great for being near the sites, I would not opt to stay here again. Too many people trying to get your attention, your money and at unfair rates. Not anything like the rest of Turkey, with rude people who pester you and everything ridiculously overprices. Great to visit for the sites, but not to stay. More

We stayed at Ferman hotel in the district. It was a pleasure to walk through the cobbled stone lanes and roads. To think these were the same routes used centuries before made it even special. More

It's loud, crowded, and alive! Be prepared to be enticed to buy anything and everything, but it's a feast for the eyes, the ears, and the nose. Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Blue Mosque, any street - it's all a wonderful experience. More

This Bazaar is tiny by has all the same stuff as the Grand Bazaar. It's open air street and less aggressive merchants as well as a good choice in scarves, ceramics, carpets, wonderful Turkish Ice Cream, overpriced jewellery..... good fun and it takes only a short stroll to feel the atmopshere. Skip the open air Cafe and head to a... More

If you enjoy history and learning about other cultures, than this is the place to be. Topkapi Palace, The Hagia Sophia and The Blue Mosque are just a few of the beautiful sites you can visit. If shopping, eating and drinking are your thing, than this to is the place to be! Try the local food and beer at Hayem... More

The area is very good, but the staff outside the restaurants are very aggressive, and they hazzle the tourists. If you are offered to eat or dring at their place, and you turn them down, they can be rude. We had our meal at Faros restaurant. There we could look at the menu alone without being told that they have... More
