We read so much about bad Turkish Bath experience and we are pleased that we can recommend Sulemantye Hamam to fellow travelers. This looks like to be the only place in Istanbul for couples and they won't accept singles. It is EUR35 per person and there is no extra charge except you want a drink after the bath. It is... More

If like me and my husband Nick, you wanted to experience the traditional ritual of the baths but as a couple or family, there is really only one place that offers it, the Suleymaniye Hamam. This hamam was designed by famed architect Sinan and was constructed for Sultan Süleyman, ruler of the Ottoman Empire between 1520 and 1566, so the... More

This was the last thing we did the night before we left Istanbul. You need to make a reservation through their website before you go. We showed up and were given a walk in changing room of our own. You don't have to worry about your things, you are given a lock to your room. Changed into the wrap for... More

First, it's a "couples-only" place, single people are not allowed to go in. Second, they give men a cloth to wear around their waist, they give women some short shorts and a "bikini" top. I have to say the top wasn't sufficient to hold my "girls" in, so I took my spare cloth (sheet?) and wrapped that around my top.... More

It was my first visit to a haman and because of that and that I had my fiancée with me I choice this touristic hamam so we could be together. In almost all hamam men and women are separate. At this haman the took god care of us from the moment vi enter and guided us “haman beginners” thorough the... More

This place is for tourists, but who would want an "authentic" Turkish bath experience? It was great to go with my husband and be together the whole time. The cover-ups provided were perfect. The building was amazingly historic. The staff friendly and everything very clean. After reading the reviews of other baths in Istanbul, I'm so happy we chose this... More

This place is only visited by tourists. I usually appreciate doing what the locals do but when it comes to hamam I guess this is more comfortable. For me it was nice being able to share the experience with my boyfriend. As far as I know this is the only hamam in Istanbl where that's possible. Compared to a sauna,... More

We went at 1000 and had the hamam to ourselves for about 45 minutes. Very clean environment which led to a rather peaceful experience of lazing on the hot marble tables for about 20 minutes. This was followed by about 15 minutes of vigorous exfoliating, foam massage and a wash off with cold water which was a rather invigorating experience!... More

We had to experience a Hamam on our trip to Istanbul and the hotel recommended this one. They picked us up and dropped us off which was convenient. However did not much care for the experience, maybe expectations were too high ? A lot of time spent lying around in the sauna like conditions, then a soapy bath and waiting... More

We went there during Thanksgiving time and the place didn't look too sanitary. The guys were scrubbing and massaging couples, but we didn't really see them cleaning the area after they were done. When it was our turn, we tried to make the most of it by keeping an open mind. The foam part was pretty cool, but overall it... More
