I wanted to go to a Hamam while in Istanbul because the travel book said I ought to. I was concerned about which one to go to and wanted to be at the least sketchy, and cleanest one I could find. My hotel suggested this one which didn't ease my concerns since I figured there was a kickback involved. I... More

During my last trip to Turkey, a few years ago, I was at a hamam in Dalaman and that was the best experience ever (I now think it was all due to the great, very skilled masseur...). Anyway, when in Istanbul I wanted to go to a hamam again and this one was recommended to me by locals, so I... More

Terrible experience. I went there with my wife, we paid 110 TL (about 60 USD). While I had more or less satisfying experience (but not worth 30 dollars obviously), my wife developed a serious skin rash after the massage. It looks like they never clean the sponge, and its really dangerous for health. Avoid at all cost. More

My visit to the Hamam was the perfect Turkish experience to end my visit to Istanbul and it was great to do at the end of a long day of sightseeing when I just wanted to relax and be pampered. More

I was undecided after reading all the reviews on TA. However I decided I would regret leaving Turkey not having experienced a Turkish Haman. Having read the reviews the negative ones seem from a time back and all the positive one are more recent, so may be they have taken note as I had a really posiitve expereince. Thanks to... More

My experience with the bath was amazing. I went around 14:00 on a Tuesday and there were only two other women in the bath the entire time I was there. I was apprehensive about being alone but had a great experience - although most of the attendants don't speak a lot of English, they tell you exactly what to do... More

We had never tried a Turkish hammam. So,on our first visit to Istanbul, Turkey we gave it a shot. The hammam is an old building and goes with the general layout of the old city. The place was pushed by our hotel, since the other BIG 2 were overpriced and often very busy. The Hammam picked me, my wife and... More

I was there in mid-August 2011 (Solo/Male). The walk-in price was 55 turkish lira. Apparently booking with a hotel is also 55 TL according to other customers that day. This is cheaper than the more famous Cemberlitas Hamam that charges 69TL. Gedikpasa have little changing rooms surrounding a nice wooden hall where you can change and keep your belongings. You...
