The oldest and biggest Wat in CM. It is inside the moat in the Old City just off the Sunday walking street. Just head along the road from Tha-Pae gate and turn left at the first traffic lights for 100 metres. Both the Wat and the Chedi are superb.

This place is wonderful! It is located in the old town, in the middle of the town. The best time to visit is in the night.

I like the architecture, because seems quite different from the temples in Bangkok. It is beautiful, but even more beautiful at night with all the lightings.

Worth a 30 minute stop to get a break from Chiang Mai's intense heat. Gorgeous temple, cool reclining Buddha and interesting ruins of what was a huge Wat at some point. In the heart of Chiang Mai, it's very easy to get to and a good historical spot to visit.

It's a beautiful peaceful place, that was a pleasure to wander around and experience even in the blistering heat.

The golden leafs make everything looks very expensive and elegant. This is one of the main attractions inside the old town of Chiang Mai. Must see! They said a visit at night to the ruin behind the temple is even better. Too bad I found out after I left Chiang Mai.. :(

I liked this wat because it's a little bit different to so many. One side is more of less restored, unfortunately not all that well, but the thought was there... There are lots of younger monks around if you're interested in joining a 'monk chat' - they get to practice their English and you get to learn more about what... More

Good View about this location, which I like. Its quite. People can relax and purify themselves. Its not far and good to find.
