they announce the stops in Thai and English. It is inexpensive and gets you around a busy city quickly. More

I work in transport, and Skytrain is often seen as a revolution in transport for Bangkok since it reduced travel times substantially for those who use it. It is anyway expensive for many locals and lacks integration with the metro. It should also have better access (via buses or so) with the older area of Bangkok (Rattanakosin). More

A great, fast and cheap means of transport to get around Bangkok! After we got the hang of it and figured what the stations were, it was a breeze. Very convenient! More

the trip now costs 30bht from Sathorn pier to National stadium (for MBK etc). The train is very convenient and pretty quick. However if you are outside peak time and there are more than 2 of you, it may be more affordable to catch a taxi. We stayed at Chatrium so this sometimes was an option for us. Taxis, however,... we used the skytrain everyday and after our first day when its all scary and not knowing where to go and what we were meant to do, it all turned out to be really easy.
