Great for a run as The streets of Taipei are generally not. Keeps you going for about 2km - five rounds make a perfect 10K! There are other runners as well as kids playing and old folks doing taiji.

Daan park is a quite escape from the hustle and bustle of Taipei. So many different groups all doing different things. The trees rustle in the wind and within a few steps you feel yourself transported to another place.
So many places close by to grab lunch and take into the part. Am here for 2 weeks and will be using their scenic running track loads. beautiful run. Amphitheatre is great for shows also has a brilliant playground for kids and nice basketball courts

Very tranquil and beautiful place, nice to relax, read a book, walk, picnic or any other thing you may want to do there. A spot of tranquility in what is often a very hectic city.
I'm surprised to see this on the list of Taipei sights as to me it's not really a tourist attraction, although it is a very pleasant place to stroll if you live in the city. It is, though, very good for people-watching, providing a lot of variety - and I always love to see people enjoying themselves in a park.
the best park in Taipei city. by far. it's huge, with running trails around it, always lots of people hanging out on the weekends.
The park used to be great because it had lots of trees and was less developed than other city parks, it was also a great gay meeting spot. Now it is gradually getting paved over, turned into MRT stations and gets very crowded. Still nice if you fancy a run or stroll, but not really worth visiting as an attraction.
Great place to spend a sunny day people watching. On the weekend, head to the east side of the park for a great market with flowers, jade and crafts.
