Found some unique items in the gift store like the Lord’s Prayer hand written in German in the form of a cross. Beautiful. More

We found this small museum very interesting. We had no prior knowledge of the Amana Colony and found the history fastinating. There is a very small fee. More

The museum has a 22 minute film telling the history of the Amana Colonies in Iowa. The artifacts and photos were interesting if a little sparse. I had never heard of this place. We found the Amana Heritage Museum informative and interesting. Before we even entered, we chatted with "Scott" at the museum for nearly an hour. He shared local insights into the Amana Colony and the eventual "Great Change" that brought the end to communal living. The movie was well done, but did leave out a few things that we had learned,...
