Really? A big blue rectangle with one very small spot of yellow on it? Or a solid green pie shaped piece that looks like it should be a trivial pursuit piece (no this is not a joke)? I do like modern art, and there were a few pieces which were lovely, or intriguing - like the hangers - but overall... More

Lovers of modern art mustn't miss this outstanding museum. The modern masters are afforded generous space, and the sculpture garden is perfect for wandering among great works of art, some unexpected like the Burghers of Calais. In addition to painting and sculpture, there are avant garde presentations in video form, as well as installations.

A little hidden jewel outside of the museum, you could walk right by it but that would be a shame. about a dozen or so scuptures dot this small very lush piece of land and are as varied as can be. surprisingly quiet in the center of it all this was a great little hide away for a few minutes.

OK, you will indeed find yourself walking in circles at the Hirshhorn; it's the only way to see the exhibits. The exhibits themselves are the thing, and you have two choices: inside or out. Each is worth an hour or two of contemplation. So dress in layers for comfort and choose where you would like to start. Inside, the Hirshhorn... More

This contemporary art museum is laid out very well so it is easy to go through. There are even occasional chairs well placed for contemplation. Though not a fan of most of the art the museum was well worth the visit. There are enough different styles and pieces that you are sure to find something to intrigue you.

We didn't make it into the museum, but we wandered aroudn the garden for quite awhile. The sculptures are beautiful and on a nice day there are places to sit and relax.

If you enjoy art, or just need a break from the larger museums, this one is great. You can get through it within an hour or two, and it has lots of interesting and usual pieces. My 7 year old loved this museum, the different types and mediums really opened her eyes as to what art can be. I had... More

It is interesting how the exhibits change from time to time, but to see hat creativity is, you have to see this circular island of art. The floors contain quite an assortment of art and sculpture. When I visited they had a bunch of bicycles soldered together., a tea exhibit that would put the Boston Tea Party to shame.

Some of the exhibits were cool, but I think most of the pieces are best appreciated by real art enthusiasts. As a more casual art fan, most of it was beyond me. We went through kind of quick. There were a few pieces my daughter really liked.
