The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial is a touching tribute to those veterans. My daughter and I visited in the early evening and it was quite a walk to get there, but well worth it. I would suggested going either in the morning or early evening to avoid the heat. It was quite crowded and there were several school groups that were... More

I came by myself on a rainy day in February, so you can certainly say that set the mood for the sadness and solemnity associated with the monument. It isn't at all what it appears like in photos; it is a lot smaller than I expected and off to the side of the Lincoln Memorial, surrounded by lots of trees.... More

I have visited before but it is still sobering to visit this wall with so many names. There were many school kids visiting and they were doing name etching with paper and pencils. It was crowded but everyone should visit and pay respects. I looked up those I knew who lost their lives for me.

Looking at all those names, and worse yet, watching people hunt for a specific person makes this a haunting yet beautiful tribute to those who gave their lives in Vietnam.

I lost 3 men on August 23 1968, the day before my birthday. I could not hold the grief when I found their names. We place a Plaque and a Red Rose for each of them. God rest their soul's and thank you for giving your all.

This memorial was shocking and sad at the same time. I liked that there were quiet places away from the wall where we could sit and reflect on sacrifices others have made for our country.

Given the place the Vietnam war has in American history, and the long wait before the war was immortalised, this sculpture perfectly illustrates the difficult relationship between the war and the people. Moving and beautifully done.

visited at night during a night time monument tour and it was really dark, so a little difficult to navigate. Still a very moving monument to those who sacrificed so much.

What an art piece! You need to get a walking tour by Tim Stewart to get all the relevant facts and information about it. Just viewing the piece is not as informative as understanding the historical and cultural significance.

I've seen this place on TV and in the news for years. It was very moving. Thank-you for giving your lives for our freedom!
