Didn`t get the chance to see it at night, which we would have loved, but it`s pretty impressive during the day anyway, well worth a visit My husband bought 2 fridge magnets from the little booth just below the Lincoln memorial. $5 each, I think he got stung with that one, cos he thought it was goin to Veterans welfare(now... Lovely stretch of walk, very peaceful and scenic. We strolled from the base to the top of the Lincoln Memorial. The monument itself is very imposing. Writing on the walls a little difficult to read in the dark. View from the top of the steps of the memorial down the reflecting pool is very pretty.

This is definitely one of the most beautiful monuments in DC what you shouldn’t miss. The statue size is impressive. Look into the face of the great Abe – the man who contributed to abolition of slavery. Expect a lot of tourists around.

You won't believe the size of this! Nice walk to the Washington monument. A little busy with all the student groups that were there though.

Beautiful building and great for photos. Lots of unattended backpacks lying around which I found slightly alarming so soon after the horrendous bombing in Boston.

Pictures don't do it justice. I recommend visiting at dusk or later. Walking down the path along the reflecting pool is calming except for the joggers and bicyclists who think they always have the right of way. When you arrive at the monument it is so massive that it is awe inspiring. Reading the words on the wall will give... More

Out of all the memorials, this is my favorite. Everything about this memorial is so powerful. The reflecting pool (which needs to be cleaned), the stairs leading up where Lincoln sits. Don't be lazy, take the hike up the stairs. And then the size of Lincoln seated so stoically. This is my favorite!

At 10 p.m. it is quiet and serene and truly an experience. Hard to put into words just how moving this memorial can be. Read the words over and over and consider our history.

Of all the Memorials, Museums, Buildings, and Cathedrals in Washington DC, The Lincoln Memorial is the one that makes you stop and think. When you read the Gettysburg Address, which is engraved on the wall to the President's right, you realize what an incredible man Abraham Lincoln was.
