This trail was fantastic. Wonderful views and scenery as you bike down the tunnels of the old railroad. My husband and i visited in Sept and the weather was perfect. We both agreed that the ride down was not too much of a work out on its own. You dont really ever get too hot. We were surprised by 2... More

Didn't really plan or know about this trail ahead of time, but picked up a pamphlet at a visitor center during a drive from Seattle to Kalispell, and it sounded intriguing. Got to the Lookout Pass Ski area around 8:30am to rent bikes. We were told the shuttle was done for the season, so we would have to return ride... More

My husband, adult son, his girlfriend, her 4 y.o. daughter, and I rode the 15 mile trail mid-August. Yes, the scenery is spectacular and the ride is unique, but after our experience we all agreed that potential dangers are downplayed by the vendor and its advertising. All was fine until the last half mile when my husband veered off the... More

My husband and I read all the reviews we could find before leaving Colorado since we couldn't decide whether to bring our own mountain bikes to Idaho. When I read reviews about people running into walls and ending up injured, I almost decided this wasn't for me. I'm so glad I didn't give up on it. We did take our... More

We really enjoyed the bike trail and all the beautiful views offered. The area is also noted for the 'fire of 1910' and many stories of yester'year lore as well as railroad history. Great way to spend a day in the outdoor's.

My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Wallace, Idaho. We were so impressed with the beauty of the area and all the biking trails. It is truly an outdoor paradise and should be experienced by all. I had read many of the reviews and found the info from others most helpful. Let's face it, not everything... More

I live about 30 miles from Lookout and had never ridden the trial so decided to do it when family came to visit. The ride was an easy trek downhill for about 16 miles. Like others have stated, we went early in the morning so the trail was quiet. When we returned there were a lot of people starting out.... More

We try and bike this trail once a year. They have everything you need if you don't have equipment and the trail is well maintained with absolutely gorgeous scenery.

Start early on a holiday weekend. We started at 0930 and met 6 people heading up before noon. Do not waste your money on the shuttle. Suck it up and ride uphill. It is only a 1.5 to 2% grade. If you only want a 20 or so mile trip - turn around just after tunnel 28. When you ride... More

You want to see some beauty? Go for a bike ride down the Hiawatha bike trail at Lookout pass. Requires a little bit of pre-planning. Ask people that's biked the trail. Be prepared to stop often and take in the view. Oh yel, remember your tunnel light.
