The unique landscape of Trakai is comprised of numerous picturesque lakes and small hills. The main landmark of Trakai is the breathtaking storybook island castle! It was constructed in the 14th century making it an excellent example of Gothic architecture. I took a lovely boat ride around the castle for 60LT (About 23 USD.) It is truly a marvelous site... trakai is the most beautiful place a restored castle surrounded by five lakes.it takes 45 mins by bus from vilnius.it had snowed a few days before we arrived.the lakes were half frozen a beautiful sight.there were ducks and swans flying over lakes the castle in back round.we had a tour of the castle very interesting.do not miss this wonderful place... The cosy castle surrounded by beautifull lakes looks great not only on summer. On winter time you can reach it crossing the lake on ice and watch winter sports competition at the same time. More

Take a tour into Trakai Castle and go for a walk around it. Please be advised that you have to pay in cash for castle tickets and there is no ATM near the castle. Visting time will be not more 2 hours. More

We first took a boat trip around Trakai (this is an extra cost). It is a great way to see this ancient castle from another perspective. I would definitely recommend doing this first. There is so much to see here ... wear good walking shoes. There are also lots of stairs to see access the different levels, so be aware... More

Very beautiful castle 25 Km. from Vilnius with regular bus connection ! No need to take any organized tour 30 Min. walk along a beautiful lake !!! More
