You can reach the theatre if you are walking along the city canal or if you are visiting Presidents Palace, it's not too far from there - about a 2 minute walk. The building is 100+ years old and this is the place where Latvia's independence was declared.

This is a picture of Latvian National Opera but not the Latvian National Theatre.... Does not make any change in rating if the issue is about the building itself. But if performance being rated then it is much different (Opera *****, Theatre ***)

Hi. You have a photo from National Opera house in a place of National Theatre. National theatre is one of eldest theatre houses in Latvia what was built as theatre and never use for other purposes. If you like traditional theatre it's a place.

you should visit if you are in love with opera or ballet! they have many of great performances and tickets dosn't cost so much. i'm not in love with opera, but i love to go for some particular opera shows there!
