A very good place to get an overall view of the city. It is, as others have said, rather expensive for what you get but I guess the lift attendant has to be paid.

The view is really nice but it was so expensive! It cost 5LV each person and that didn't include visit in the church...
If you would like a great view of Old Town Riga and the surrounds then this is a must. Take your camera and be prepared for a stunning view of this magnificent City.
A must if you want to get an overview of the city, for me it was necessary because this is the best way to get the feeling of the size old town and to see the layout of the old streets. It cost 5 lats, the elevator is a bit slow and you have to walk up 2 stairs to...

You go up a few stairs and then squeeze into a small old lift. The guy operating it looks a bit bored, but then he probably is. You get out at the top of the spire with just enough room to squeeze round - but with fantastic views over the city. Photos can be taken without the barrier of glass...

We enjoyed the paintings on display around the church, as well as how they restored it after WWII. The view was nice, but the bars keep you from seeing over the edge to what is directly below, so your view of the old town is limited.
its very very nice, because its a small city so you can see a lot from this tower, one bad thing: expensive, aprox 6 euros por person for a 15 min visit
It was a fantastic view from the top of the tower, but 4L was a bit pricey for a 5 min trip to the top and back. It was better going for a cocktail at the Skyline bar in the Radisson for a similar view!!
The good news is that you do not need to climb up stairs to go to the spire platform. They have an elevator and it costs 4 lats to get there (not 5 as I read it in other comments, but maybe this is a seasonal rate!). Anyway, the view from the spire at 123m high is really worth it....

A nice view, but the platform is narrow and does not allow many visitors before getting crowded. Not a peaceful place.
