We hopped off the city tour bus to look at old Estonia in this outdoor museum. Lots of reconstructed farm houses creating an historical village by the sea but unfortunately in April the houses were all closed which limited our experience. It was however only 3 euro entrance( 6 in Summer) and we enjoyed walking around, The snow was just... More

Lovely area to visit but in March we could not fully appreciate the museum as most buildings were not open. More

Although we visited on a Sunday, when many of the exhibits were closed, it was still a very worthwhile and educational experience. The walk around the beautiful forest park, in the crisp, cold air was very enjoyable. The old farm, church and school buildings from the 19th century were interesting to view, while all the members of staff we encountered were keen... More

You can travel via the 21 or 21B bus from Balti Jaam bus station to Rocca al Mare. The bus will stop outside the front of the museum after a approx 20-25 min journey. We visited the museum in the winter. It still had alot of 'charm' even for this time of the year. There are a number of buildings... More

My wife and I went there on a cold but sunny day.The way this museum has been constructed is fantastic, with about 25mm of snow on the ground (but all the roads and paths were clear) everywhere was like being in a Christmas Card,an unforgettable expeirience. More

Really interesting place to visit, really well designed , gave great insight into old Estonia when we visited there was snow everywhere, which made it even more realistic, when you seen the houses they lived in, and the farm plots. Really recommend this for anyone to visit. More

We were told to go and visit the countryside of Estonia; and if we couldn't do that then to go to the Open Air Museum.. Which is what we did. It was so interesting to see each of the different farms and windmills from different parts of the island.. The contrast to Tallinn and the city is astonishing. In winter... More
