There was a Christmas theme, handicrafts and food were sold, and interactive history performance everywhere. Great even though I don't speak estonian. Great atmosphere!

You can travel via the 21 or 21B bus from Balti Jaam bus station to Rocca al Mare. The bus will stop outside the front of the museum after a approx 20-25 min journey. We visited the museum in the winter. It still had alot of 'charm' even for this time of the year. There are a number of buildings...

My wife and I went there on a cold but sunny day.The way this museum has been constructed is fantastic,with about 25mm of snow on the ground (but all the roads and paths were clear) everywhere was like being in a Christmas Card,an unforgettable expeirience.

Really interesting place to visit, really well designed , gave great insight into old Estonia when we visited there was snow everywhere, which made it even more realistic, when you seen the houses they lived in, and the farm plots. Really recommend this for anyone to visit.

We were told to go and visit the countryside of Estonia; and if we couldn't do that then to go to the Open Air Museum.. Which is what we did.
