Before coming here I did not know many things about Kafka and I only read one of his books, The Trial. However, I was very interested to learn more and this museum was the perfect place to do that. The museum is very modern in concept and athmosperic. It does not only give you a lot of information about kafka's... More

I was struck by the account of Kafka's walk to school - so much so, that we retraced his steps around Prague based on the information at the museum. Excellent display of first editions. The shop is stocked with his titles in English. This visit had a profound effect on our trip.

Wheelchair accessible, friendly staff, well-designed displays, a little gem to enjoy the life of Franz Kafka.

We quite enjoyed finding the P iss structure in front of the Kafka Museum during our recent trip to Prague. This is another of David Cerny's works that you can find within the city, the other that we discovered was 'Man Hanging Out' nearer to the Old Town Square. The P iss structure, made in 2004, is a piece composed... More

Forget about the museum, go for the fountain of the pissing men, the cafe and the River Terrace Bar. The fountain was one of the most amusing moments in Prague. The Museum takes itself too seriously - easy given the subject matter, and is really one for the Kafka fans. The area around the Museum however is great for the... More

An interesting museum, but felt at times that they we scraping the barrel for exhibits, and had just put in anything they found from kafka's life. The dark lighting and continuous sound track of surreal noises made it fairly oppressive, but then I guess that was the point. Worth a look if you're interested in Kafka, but don't think that... Not a boring museum, with timelines and family details. Instead a provocative film that plays in a loop, and interesting photographs. Well worth it!

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Franz Kafka Museum. Letters, books and pictures were displayed about the life and times of this brilliant German-Czech writer. His literary contribution is assessed and analyzed and conveyed so clearly to visitors. If you are interested in Kafka's works or if you just wonder about life generally, take a look at this unique and fascinating... More

All Kafka readers know one thing: the man was tormented by his father and his identity as a Jew in Prague so much that everything he wrote went back to these two topics. This tearing apart of the self is fairly difficult to fully grasp for a regular reader so a visit to the Kafka museum on the bank of... More
