Wow, it's huge, with glorious views across the city. Be prepared for a long, steep climb over the cobbles to get there.
So, I guess I was expecting an actual castle? The church St. Vitus was by far the most impressive of the grounds. It truly was amazing. But everything else, was just kinda ok. Gorgeous views of Prague. The golden lane was interesting.
The views from two of the entrances of the castle are both beautiful! You can walk inside the castle ground and also the foyer of the church without having to pay . Go early as there are alot of guided tours and it's hard to get around the large groups. We took tram number 22 up and them walked back... More
We went by number 22 tram very cheap remember to buy tickets we got our from out hotel. Huge place very scenic view of Prague. The church St. Vitus was very impressive and stunning and very large. We bought the short trip tickets and this allowed us in the better buildings the golden lane was very interesting and the armour... More
Took short walking tour of castle with audio guides. Included the castle, St Wenceslaus and St George's cathedrals. Learns lots about the history and culture. Of course the architecture is splendid. Short tour took about 3 hours which was just enough for us.
Huge place, interesting walk around, scenic views across city of Prague, historically interesting church, impressive architecture, extremely busy place, much activity. We saw some amazing classical musicians busking in the square - probably the best quality concert presentation of our tour in both Prague and Vienna. We didn’t take the guided tour and I wish we had as it would... More
A definite must see when in Prague and pay for a guded tour since you really get your moneys worth hearing first hand of all the history and significance of each and every building. Photos of the changing of the guards inside the Castle walls goes without saying.....
I think I'm about to be a bit controversial eek. First of all I would just like to say if you are going to Prague don't miss it, it's obviously a main tourist sight and although I felt it was perhaps a bit overrated (I keep thinking I surely must have missed something!) I would recommend you go and form... More
We cycled up here in the scorching heat, and were sure it wasn't going to be worth it. It was. There's just so much to see and learn about the castle. Not to mention the great views of the city down below. We didn't get to go in because there was some official state event, but even staying outside was... More
