We hit this resort during their slow months (April-May). They are full during the winter for those wanting to view the Northern Lights & take advantage of snow activities. Wasn't yet time for the summer crowd, and this was great as it wasn't too crowded. The 70+ mile drive up was beautiful & we brought our swimsuits so we could... More

We stayed here last week for a weekend night. The hot springs are neat, but the building next to the springs is somewhat dated. The room was nice, somewhat typical to a Best Western, nothing fancy, but clean. We ate at the restaurant, the food was good and the waitress was very nice. It is somewhat expensive, but then you... The last time I told Trip Advisor about Chena Hot Springs (approximately a year ago), I gave a raving review because it was absolutely wonderful. I felt compelled (actually obligated), to share my most recent visit with you. In a word - FILTHY! A group of 6 of us went and were very disappointed. Our rooms (the Moose Lodge) were... More

Me and my husband decided to have a romantce getaway this weekend. We were not Impressed at all , the only thing that we enjoyed was the hot Springs for a little while , there were tons of loud obnoxious younger adults in the springs , the hotel was clean but not anything worth the price . As well as... More

Everything at this resort is expensive- getting there, eating there, and enjoying any of the many activities offered, except for the Geothermal tour which is fun- and free! You can also choose up to 3 luggage tags- for free. The hotel was clean, but expect to do stairs if you have a second floor room. The flooring in the spa... More

First a disclaimer. We (me, kids 20, 17 and 12) visited this location on a tour with 1st Alaska Outdoor School, so did not stay in any accomodation, but left our Fairbanks hotel about 4pm and returned about 4am the following morning. The journey to and from the resort takes about 1. 5 hours as the road is icy. I... More

Just got back from the Aurora Odyssey tour and could write a book about the setting (gorgeous), the accommodations (comfy and clean), the food (pretty good, esp. the steaks and seafood), the hot springs (delightful antidote to -20F temperatures), the staff (generally helpful and friendly although the waitstaff in the dining room seemed tourist-weary), the ice palace (great fun and... Could there be anything better than lolling in 106 degree water while being surrounded by snow and a clear Arctic night sky teeming with stars? This is an amazing place in winter. The phenomenon of a intense warmth below water, and ice forming on any exposed damp hair (including those on your legs!) is a delight. The large pool is... More

In my personnel opinion having been born and raised in Fairbanks and being very familiar with the surrounding areas of the City, one place stands out that I enjoy visiting, getting away from town, work and repetition, I enjoy relaxing at the Hot Springs; especially during the long winter months. It's approximately a 1 hour 18 minute drive from the... More

A friend and I visited Chena Hot Springs near Fairbanks, AK, the end of February 2013. We swam in the hot water in temperature just above 0 degrees. The facility is wonderful and I understand recently updated. There is a very nice shower and locker room area. There is also a large indoor hot tub and a childrens pool. The... More
