A Roman ruins with a theater and baths but most other stones have been displaced. The reason to come here is to explore the countryside, walk up the hillside and view the valley beyond the theater, breathe in and out and enjoy being away from the crowds in a place with no fee and no toilets.

I wouldn't make this a destination by itself. As mentioned, the only thing you can see that looks like something are the theatre and bits of the baths. All the rest is just heaps of stones, and I'm not very good at guessing at what things are/were. But, as also mentioned by other reviewers, great, great views of the countryside... More

this was the original site of Ronda in Roman times. a bit of a climb up the hill to the theatre which is the main structure on the site. just beyond the theatre you can see the view from the top of the escarpment and one of the reasons the Romans built it here, it is a viewpoint for the... More

A gorgeous drive into the countryside around Ronda. You go through vineyards, sunflower plantations and pass Iberian blackfoot pigs. When you arrive at Acinipo, it may look like its closed, but the "guard" is probably sleeping in his little hut. He's obviously from the area and keeps his donkey, horse and baby mule on site. Not much money has been... More

There are more impressive Roman remains other places, certainly, but the theater is still impressive, and more importantly for me, I am often here alone. The village was built as a retirement destination for elderly former officers and their families, and the views are impressive. I live nearby, and love to stop in alone, or with friends, to see the... More

As a roman ruins go, these are not spectacular - there is an auditorium, part of the theatre wall and many piles of stones. It is not a must-see, but it was a beautiful location and an interesting stop on the way/from 'White Villages' or caves.

A superb example of Roman brilliance and the power of their empire, How on earth did they find this place, how long did it take to build it, its staggering in its strategic location, make sure to walk to the top of the entire hill to get some idea of the genius behind why they picked this point. A lovely... More
