Departing at 9:30 and returning at 3pm allows you plenty of time with the awe-inspiring humpback whales in Platypus Bay. The cruise along pristine Fraser Island’s western beaches can offer sightings of dingoes, schooling fish and numerous sea birds. Expert commentary by our knowledgeable skipper will keep you entertained as well as DVD’s on the plasma TV. Colouring activities and soft toys will keep the children amused and if they are tired we have 3 double beds. Home-baked morning tea, tropical buffet lunch as well as fruit and cheese platters for the return trip are all included as well as tea, coffee, water and soft drinks all day. With maximum passenger numbers of 45 and three levels of viewing your whale watch experience will be memorable, informative and uncrowded. « less

In October 2011, my daughter, granddaughter and I went out on the Freedom 11 to commemorate my husband, David's, passing the previous year. We wanted to be out on the water where he was happiest and we were rewarded with a marvellous experience. The entire day was fantastic - many, many whales, a wealth of information, delicious food and a... More

My husband, our 2.5 year old and I had a great time on the Freedom Whale Watching cruise. Our 2.5 year old enjoyed her time on the boat and even used the bed on the upper level of the boat to relax. I had read that the food they serve for lunch and snacks (which is included in the price)... More

Thanks Vanessa for your wonderful review. It is great to hear we are still in your mind well after your visit. We are gearing up for the next season and hope the whales are just as friendly and plentiful as last year. Hope we see you again in the future. More

We arrived late into Hervey Bay so booked onto Freedom for the next morning after hastily locating a tour which would take us so late in the day - serendipitous of us! The boat was well equipped with lots of space and different sitting areas and the crew were really friendly and professional. Coffee, tea and soft drinks were complimentary... More

Absolutely magnificent! Best value for money as this was a 3/4 day tour compared to 1/2 tours for roughly the same price. Keith and the team were fantastic on the day, food was first class and the skill, knowledge and professionalism of the crew was 1st class. This truly was the experience of a lifetime and we'll be back the... More

We booked a Freedom Whale Watch Package staying at the Emeraldene Inn and were so happy with the choice after this trip. This was a gift for my wife’s birthday and we both had an amazing experience with the whales. The boat is a perfect size with only 40 odd passengers on board, and being a ¾ day trip we... More

With so many whale watching companies to choose from, all aroud the same price, we chose this one because it didn't leave too early or return too late, but still was enough time out on the water to maximise whale sightings. We found the crew extremely friendly and helpful, the food was delicious (freshly baked scones for morning tea and... More

We chose Freedom on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews and were very glad we did. The catamaran is a good size and not at all crowded with a maximum of 40 people on board. We saw other larger boats which looked very crowded. This meant we could move around easily to see the whales. We saw about 34 whales... More

We had a fantastic day on this cruise, and were so glad we booked our trip on Freedom III. Other boats are bigger and look quite crowded, and the decks are so high above the water. Freedom III only takes 40 people, and there is plenty of room for everyone. We saw another smaller boat, but it wasn't a catamaran,... More
