I had just the best time of my east coast aussie trip with Fraser Explorer. I did the one day tour and that was just outstanding! The knowledge and the passion about the island of the local guide tour Martin really made the difference to my tour! Fraser Island is a magical place and Lake Mckenzie is absolutely magnificent. You can hire a 4x4 and do the self-guided tour, camping out and dodging the dingoes. Or you can do one of the guided tours on a 4WD bus. Not only do you get to sit back and enjoy watching someone else struggle with the sand dunes but the knowledge and commentary from the tour guide is superb. Trips pickup... More

only limited access to Fraser Island is possible by 4WD cars. As national park and World Heritage site no building of roads and buidlings is permitted. Renting 4WDs in Hervey Bay, where most tours start, is extremely expensive. If you don't have your own 4WD this tour offered by Fraser Explorer Tours is a good compromise. A 1-day tour is... More

We went from Hervey Bay on a small tour of 20 people. The tour director was wonderful and very informative. A small group is really recommended. Eli creek was fun, and not too much to see at the wreck. Since you can't swim in the ocean, there is not too much to do, except admire the miles and miles of... More

The itenerary should be condensed into a more " concise " look at highlights of the island eg offer more time around central station and lake mckenzie and a short stretchbofvthe magnificent beac highway in that latitude , not need to see the rusted hull of a disappearing boat . Not need see pinnacles nor Eli creek on that one... More

Dear ViLaruccia Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for glad to read that you loved Lake McKenzie as much as we do. Central Station, Pile Valley, the trip along 75-Mile Beach to the Maheno and the optional joy flight with Air Fraser Island are also highlights for most people. I apologise that aspects of your... My husband, our 2.5 year old and I really enjoyed our 1 day Fraser Island tour. It was very informative and we got to see some great sites on the island. Our child LOVED the entire tour from going on the ferry to riding on the big bus and then playing in the sand at Lake Mackenzie. We loved the... More

Fraser Explorer Tours took us on a great tour of the world's largest sand island. We went to the pinnacles, the shipwreck, drove on the 75 mile beach, toured the rain forest and swam in Lake MacKenzie. The lunch was ok, though not outstanding. Craig, the guide, was great. More

Had SUCH an amazing time on fraser island!! Lake McKenzie and the champagne pools were definate highlights, although i felt pretty lucky to see 4 dingos on the trip as well, as they're such a quintessential part of the island!!! ;) The food was incredible too, and Shane our tour guide was hilarious!!! very entertaining, and skillful driving ;) So...
