I am not a rugby expert. To be quite honest, I have no clue about the game or the rules. But I really enjoyed my visit to the rugby museum. It's full of sport memorabilia, full of facts and artefacts and I got involved into finding out about rugby very quickly. I liked very much how the history of rugby... More

We are really pleased you chose to visit us. We chose to design our museum in a decade by decade fashion, that way we could organise all of our stories. Our volunteers love their rugby and history, each one brings their own stories and shares them too. More

We stopped off at the rugby museum as my boyfriend is an avid rugby fan and there would have been tantrums had we not. Not really understanding the game myself I reluctantly agreed to come along with him and had a surprisingly good time. The staff were incredibly friendly and added their own touch to the interesting exhibits. There were... More

Not far from New Zealand's capital city, Wellington, lies one of NZ's best Museums. The New Zealand Rugby Museum, in Palmerston North, is a two hour, lovely scenic bus ride from Wellington. One is quite impressed with the many vintage displays, tracing the roots of the game of rugby in NZ back to the 1870's. As one walks through the... More

Everything is extremely well displayed. I particularly liked the displays were by pressing a button the item being discussed lit up. The staff member on duty was very friendly and helpful.

does what it says on the tin - a museum of NZ Rugby. Nice new additions keep the kids busy after they have hastily gone round and seen all the shirts. Enough to keep Dads and Grandads busy for a couple of hours so worth visiting with someone less interested who can take the kids back downstairs to the Manawatu... More

We had a rainy afternoon to fill so we went to Te Manawa and the Rugby Museum. (Fitting since we were headed to see the All Blacks the next day.) It was about $12.50 for each adult and we spent about an hour looking around it. We found that it was certainly more of an All Blacks museum rather than... More
