An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge. Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. One of our passenger recently commented it is like a moving postcard. It is certainly a 'must do' when visiting Launceston! « less

We did the 2 and a half hour morning cruise with morning tea and wine tasting and it was a very relaxing and enjoyable way to see the Tamar Valley. The food was really good, lots of muffins, pastries and cookies and filter coffee, much better than expected, based on other cruises I have been on elsewhere. The commentary was... More

Walking distance form city centre. We did the 50 minute tour on our last day, I would recommend "do this on day one". The trip and excellent guide's information and understanding of Launceston and it's history will assist you in your visit. Reasonably priced and highly recommended.

We went on the 4 hour 'Batman Bridge Luncheon Cruise' which travels through the Cataract Gorge and through Launceston's riverfront precinct. The boat is very neat and comfortable. Our hosts were very professional, friendly and knowledgable. We were provided with morning tea, coffee, muffins, fruit cake and biscuits. Lunch was an assortment of breads with a wide range of fillings,... More

I took the four hour afternoon cruise from Launceston to the mouth of the Tamar following an initial short trip up the Cataract Gorge. I very much enjoyed the informative commentary. The riverside scenery slipped gently by whilst having an excellent afternoon tea with coffee and local wine. Wildlife observed along the way included seals and sea eagles. As a... More

We did the morning discovery cruise up to Rosevears in the Tamar Valley as well as going up into Cataract Gorge. It was a relaxing way to see the area without having to drive. The commentary was informative and interesting and the captain even stopped to give us a good look at a sea eagle in a tree on the... More

We took the 4 hour cruise on the Tamar River and thoroughly enjoyed it. The boat was clean, the staff were friendly and efficient, the captain was informative and very capable and the food was good and plentiful. We did the cruise the day after we drove through the Tamar Valley. It was not repetitive since the views from the... More

Had a couple of hours to kill while in Launceston and took my son on a Sunday afternoon River cruise. It was a great experience taking in the sights from our boat with a lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable skipper. Going down the Cataract Gorge was the highlight and I highly recommend it as a great way to discover this... More

We took the 50 minute cruise and were really happy we did. Our captain was fantastic, he was very informed about the local area and history and we were really impressed with his knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, admittedly we didn't see much of the Gorge but the captain suggested other areas to go to see more - which... More

We enjoyed the smaller cruise into cataract gorge, which also included the top end of the Tamar river. The captain was very knowledgeable, and gave us many insights into the areas we were viewing, so that once the cruise was over, we were able to enjoy our walk into the gorge, and to sample the Mill Providore and the restaurants... Not recommended and definitely don't go at low tide - in fact the 50 minute cruise is more than enough if you are still keen. Not much to see at the best of times as this river is in serious trouble!
