We walked the route for one day at the start then drove around and did the link near the Great Divide up to Key Summit. The second choice is a real winner and a must on a clear day after an early Milford sound trip or to add on to your Routburn Hike.

Recently completed the track. 2 nights/ 3 days from the shelter to the divide. The walk was very achievable, the weather was perfect, no rain but there was still plenty of water around in the numerous waterfalls. The huts were more than basic including flushing toilets. The track is well maintained and well marked.
