We thought it was expensive but once in the "door" was please to hear how much work they do towards conservation. Great location. Lovely set out. EXCELLENT personal audio that you are given when you arrive.... made all the difference to the time spent there More

We love getting this type of review. We are so much more than a display of birds and reptiles and we love it when people get that. By visiting our park, you are supporting New Zealand conservation and sharing our passion. Thank you. More

I went primarily to see the kiwis, which you simply can't in their nocturnal environment. I missed the feeding time, which was disappointing, especially given the cost. But had a good time watching the limited number of birds that were visible that day. This is a pic of a Scaup, a duck that dives under water for its food for... More

Thank you for writing this review at my request after you sent me the photo of the scaup for identification. I regret that your experience here didn't meet your expectations better. We offer four kiwi feedings a day because they are a great opportunity for visitors to spend enough time in the nocturnal house for their eyes to adapt to... More

The Kiwi exhibit is very special - but you need to understand that they are nocturnal so you are going into a dark, quiet building to see them. The Kiwi feeding itself was fun. For us the best part, though, was the widlife encounter. They let some of the birds fly in the encounter area, which was very special. As... More

This bird life park is short on birds and the ones there were scarce. I understand that kiwis are nocturnal and very shy. The kiwi feeding and exhibits are the only things we enjoyed. I guess my $68 discounted admission charge was worth it if most of it goes to kiwi conservation as we were told. More

Thank you for visiting the park. We regret that you were disappointed. We have over twenty species of birds and reptiles here at the park. Sometimes they are more active than at other times, which may seem like the aviaries are sparsely inhabited. We do appreciate your visit and the support that goes to our conservation efforts. More

Very well laid out with an abundance of wildlife. You could easily spend a few hours here, and the staff are very helpful and full of knowledge! My only complaint would be the price, a little on the expensive side I felt. Fair enough the money goes to running the park but I think they would get a lot more... More

Thank you for your visit and positive review! We appreciate the contribution to our conservation efforts. Our staff is passionate about what we do. We were recently rewarded by getting to send off our baby kiwi, Tuku, up to the North Island to be released into the wild! More

Thank you for the great review! You'll be pleased to know that Tuku, our baby kiwi, took a flight to Auckland last week to be released into the wild. She'd reached her "predator-proof" weight of 1 kilo! If you'd like to follow her progress, check out our facebook page. Thanks. More

The headphones are a great idea to explore the park at your leisure and learn about native wildlife. A little pricey but understandable for 1. the location and 2. that it is the proceeds from your entry that pay for the upkeep of the park and breeding/conservation programmes. More
