I went to Staglands last week without knowing what to expect. The road there from Waikanae is pretty challenging, so I suggest you to take another route. Once there, thought, the place is amazing! Even without little children it is a nice place to encounter. I have been a few times and will continue to go there. So nice to see the animals runing around freely and the grounds are beautiful. The cafe is good and prices are reasonable.

I have been visiting Staglands since the 90s and have witnessed its' growth. Even before I had children I loved to take all my out of town visitors to Staglands. When the kids arrived they started by watching everything from the safety of the backpack to hanging out with the friends as teens.
