A great walk can takes you meandering through park, sculpture, history, activity or not whilst listening to the splosh of water on rocks. Early morning is calming to the soul.

Whenever I have gone to Wellington, which has been every two years, I have always been to a restaurant in Oriental Bay, gone for a walk along the shore, and a swim if warm enough. A blissful place to walk barefoot in pale sand when just 'up there' is a major city and fountain gazing wiles more time away. A place to 'breathe' or play in the sun or the wind
I walked here from my hotel (Kingsgate Wellington). Not the shortest journey but worth it for the views and the paths were all clearly marked and are all paved along the waters edge. Nice footpath around the bay. Nothing special though. A couple of restaurants and resting spots along the way. Not really more than a nice short stroll.
Oriental parade home to quality restaurants, an inner city man made beach and very popular with runners and walkers alike. It comes into its own in the warm summer days but can be very unhospitable in the wet and cold Wellington winter. It is also home to some of Wellington's most expensive apartments
A nice stroll on one of the busiest parts of Wellington. The area is clean and well kept a great place to watch the world go by.
A walk right around the waterfront to Oriental Bay is just wonderful on a good day. Fresh sea air and the chance to soak in the character of the local area with cafes and shops
