In Paihia last week.........only had one shot for a fish so crossed fingers and hoped.........weather played up - too wet for photo's etc, sea had a bit of lift but ole Cap'n Bucko delivered the goods.....several kingi's to 40 lb hit the deck, plenty of snapper by-catch, fish of various descriptions around the boat all morning. It was ok. You get what you pay for but not more. I did not like bis humour so much though. He is sometimes rude....we had nice weather but it feelt more that you would go with him fishing and mainly he is fishing not you. You are just allowed to hold the rod and the rest he will do.... More

Purchased a fishing voucher off Bucko over a year ago for my dads b'day but due to my mum breaking her hip just couldnt get my dad up to Paihia to use it. Spent the day out with Bucko snapper fishing and despite not catching anything had a brilliant day anyway. Local knowledge is top notch and has a great sense of humor, thoroughly enjoyed the day and would highly recommend anyone this trip. Thanks Bucko!
