Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

Visited the Supper club about 22 years ago and had chance to visit this month. Still the same great venue. Love the sticky date pudding. Yum....well worth an after Theatre visit. Enjoy.

This is a great place to come later in the evening after the theatre or similar. It is open late and has lots of the large Chesterfield style lounges to sink into and enjoy some tasty snacks and wine.
The wine list is extensive but it did take us four goes to find one that they actually had in stock and it was one that they recommended to us. However, it was a fantastic drop and went well with our food that we ordered.
The staff were friendly and attentive but also never made you feel rushed and there was no push to get you out of the place. It was just a chilled vibe with some beats playing.
There is a rooftop section as well but we thought we would leave that until the warmer months, although they had lots of heaters up there.

Great place! The staff is very kind and the service is perfect! The best food and wine I had in town. The place is confortable and cigar smokers friendly... great decor as well with the British leather sofas.
Definitely coming back on my next trip in Melbourne

About the best cocktails you could find anywhere. I don't think there's a menu, but the martini, Hemingway daiquiri and Sazerac were all spectacular. The bar food is good too

Grabbed a quick meal here before a show at the Princess Theatre. Kids loved the spaghetti and meatballs, adults enjoyed a tuna nicoise and a corned beef ploughman's plate. Serving sizes were just right for a light lunch. Lovely wine by the glass, with some interesting choices at reasonable prices.

Crowded, expensive drinks and poor service. Not an experience worth repeating. Seating was uncomfortable and servers all had "attitude"

The service in this place is terrible! Years ago this was one of my favourite places to go for after dinner drinks. But a recent experience here with rude, arrogant staff will ensure I never return. I recently visited on business and the waitress treated us so badly that we made a formal complaint to management. What used to make this place cool was the old-school vibe and now it's just filled with contemptuous wait staff who think they are above taking a drink order.

Does it get any better? The fancy end of town, up a stairway with no signage, a beautiful bit of space, and great view of Melbourne 1800s architecture. Well it does! A wine list that will have you reading all night and good food to complement the wine. A great place to settle in for a post show or dinner drink. Its the must do place for people visiting Melbourne. Particularly in winter.

We had just seen a show it was 11:30pm and were told about it by our hotel concierge we missed it to begin with and walked straight past the door, when we found it we opened the big wooden door standing unnoticeably in the street we were amazed, this place seemed the best kept secret! We order some supper and drinks and the most amazing cheese I've had in my life! The food was amazing! The staff were wonderful and the place was buzzing, we were seated inside as it was a very cold night but it was so snug! This place felt like a speak-easy, it felt vintage and I absolutely loved it! We will definitely be back!!!
