Nice place to spend an afternoon. Many animals to observe and view. Write up about the animals was good too.

Spider display in office quite good. Most zoo cages were empty with a sign saying "Sorry we are not home".
It's a wonder in this day and age, that an attraction such as this can remain available to the public at no cost. I would have been happy to pay an entrance fee, to see what is essentially small, but well inhabited zoo. We unknowingly timed our visit to co-incide with the afternoon keeper talks and feeding sessions, which made...

I have been visiting Rockhampton Gardens for over 30 years and I was there again last week. It continues to grow and be a fabulous place to take family and friends. It is one of the few things in Rockhampton I always enjoy consistently. The kiosk is very plain and for some reason seems to always be having some problems...

I had a spare day in Rockhampton and someone suggested the gardens. I was so suprised that the zoo entry was free, when I got there they had dingos, crocodiles, chimps, koala's etc. The koalas were the most active I have ever seen, they were extremely friendly too. Recently attended the gardens with my family and I must say it was amazing.
The meals at the kiosk are of great value and the service is spot on. Much credit to the kiosk and also to the council for the work done at the zoo. It is one treasure Rocky is certainly proud of.
Would love to see the...

Lots of other animals to see especially the Chimpanzee's they are amazing to watch. There is also a Japanese garden...

The gardens are ok, and the animals (cassowary, emu, kangaroos, wombats, dingoes and chimps) will be entertaining for small children or visiting foreigners. The grounds are well maintained and there is plenty of parking. But the highlight is the lagoon at the bottom of the hill; nice views for Rockhampton, and there are hundreds of turtles near the bank. Also...

This is a great set up with everything from exotic birds, chimpanzee's, dingos, kolas, wombats, crocodiles, reptiles etc AND it is all FREE. The zoo is well maintained and we always end at the bottom feeding the ducks and turtles.
The botanical gardens are beautiful and we often enjoy the playground, which is also well maintained. There is a cafe...
