We go here a lot. It is in such a beautiful setting and the building is so wonderful. You could spend the day just wandering around looking at the harbour, having a coffee or meal at one of the many restaurants and cafes. We saw Madam Butterfly and it was a wonderful opera in a stunning setting. This is a Australian Icon, which does not disappoint. We strolled from Circular Quay, towards the Opera House with the city skyline & the harbour bridge glistening in the night air. We watched Burt Bacarach in the concert hall, with the Sydney Sympony Orchestra. The concert hall itself is intimate & allows you to connect with the performers, plus the... More

No matter when you are in Sydney, be sure to visit the Opera. There are always a number of productions to see. Or, even just going for a walk around Circular Quay to the Opera, up the stairs to this monolithic structure will prove to be a memorable experience you do not want to miss. More

The history of the construction of the Opera House is interesting in itself, its architecture with the white sails design is very representative of the lifestyle in Sydney, boating on the harbour. More

Amazing from a distance or up close. Walk around the building. Don't really recommend the back stage tour as you seldom get to see much more than what you do if you attend a performance due to rehearsals. Go to a performance. More

The Opera was presented in English. Conducted by Simon Hewett, and leads of Figaro- Joshua Bloom, Susanna - Taryn Fiebig, and Countess - Elvira Fatykhova were wonderful to hear and watch their performances. The scenery is set in modern time - and needs to be improved! It looked like a laundry room, simple bedroom and the garden night scene had... More
