This bridge has not architectural merit. At several times during the day, traffic on this busy road (one of the few to service the northern beaches) is stopped to allow boats through. Walked from Manly ferry terminal west along the coastal path bound for "The Spit" bridge. I knew Sydney was a picturesque place but was amazed at the beauty nonetheless. This bridge opens several times each day to allow boating craft with tall sails to pass through. The scenery around the Spit is winderful and many boats and yachts are moored there. The view, the multi million dollar boats, yachts and houses. Just don't get caught if your driving at bridge opening times. Advertised on RTA website. Traffic around this area is atrocious in peak hours and weekends. More
