For an historic site this is worth the visit and be sure to walk around the lovely botanic gardens and art gallery afterwards
This is a great activity whether you have just stepped off the plane and need to begin fighting jet-lag, or if you need a break from the pressures of the downtown area. My only advice is don't rush it. Take some time to practice your photography skills, as you'll be pressed to find greater beauty in the area.
Its a fair distance between the Circular Quay central area to the Opera House, it's quite nice to take the time to walk to the Botanics Garden and have a walk around. One can witness grandeur in building and botanic architecture in 1 hour of a stroll. Where else in the world could one enjoy the splendor of Sydney harbor together with brilliant human creativity?
We managed to visit the Opera House late afternoon and booked the last tour at 5 pm. If you have the time and the weather is good do not miss taking this walk. The Gardens grounds should not be missed, and the views to the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge are not to be missed.
