This was our second trip from Adelaide of the Indian Pacific traveling in Gold class back to Sydney we always enjoy an over night train trip, having also been on the Ghan. The cabins are very compact but comfortable and have been updated since our last trip in 2008. Food and service good with wine etc included in the price... More

We did the trip from Adelaide to Sydney in Gold Class. First the positive, great fun if you like trains, cabins with en-suite facilities satisfactory, service (Crew A) good, inclusive food and wine good quality. The changing nature of the country is a fascination and the climb over The Blue Mountains visually great. Now a couple of small minuses 1... More

This is not a review of our (soon to be...maybe!) trip on this train, rather, a puzzled observation regarding the two previous reviews. There are 2 reviews which appear to be about the same time, viz, April 2013 "Not what we paid for or expected" ( 1 out of 5 ) ...and, "A big disappointment" ( 1 out of 5... More

Dear West Wander 11, I have just today taken on the job of responding to our reviews on Trip advisor, please be assured good or bad review will get a response. Our crew and staff work very hard to ensure that guests have a trip of a lifetime no matter of the situation. It is hard to comment further as... More

In short, this is good, but not brilliant. The terminal at Sydney is crowded and I was shocked to find nowhere to sit. But not really the train operator's fault as they are just paying for the space to allow people to board. Luggage collection very efficient (you can only take hand luggage into your compartment, the rest goes into... More

Dear Rob007London, Thank you for your recent comment and we are pleased that you enjoyed your trip across the Nullarbor Plain. Australia is so vast and there is no other way to experience the magic of it then by travelling by train. We do try to keep to our scheduled time tables, from time to time unforeseen circumstances arise. We... More

We decided to go Platinum Class which is obviously the most expensive and coming from the UK it was incredibly expensive, but I am glad we had the extra room to move around in. I have wanted to do this trip for a long time just to experience the vastness of Australia and to see the many different terrains. We... More

We travelled from Sydney to Adelaide expecting to see The Blue Mountains and have a tour and breakfast in Broken Hill the next morning ....................Not!! The train was over 3 hours late leaving Sydney which meant we saw none of The Blue Mountains at all because it was dark almost immediately we left ! After an awful night being rocked... More
